Magic, Mystery, a little Whisky, and a Cat

What Sorchia’s Universe has for You!

I’m in the glorious position of being able to edit just what I want and when I want! If you write fantasy, cozy mysteries, thrillers, horror, YA fantasy or paranormal romance/adventure, and you are in need of an editor, maybe I can help.

I have an MA in English and over 25 years’ experience teaching high school and college writing courses and 13 years’ experience as a technical and fiction editor.

I offer reasonable rates and quick turnaround times. I’ll do your first 1000 words for free to see if we are going to be happy working together. We can also have a Zoom meeting to talk about it, if you would like.

After that, the rate for developmental editing is .017¢ per word. For that, I’ll copyedit and proof, check for continuity, read for plot holes and character development and offer advice about pacing, formatting, and organization.

Copyediting/proofreading is .01¢ per word. This entails the basic scan for spelling, grammar, punctuation, sentence construction, and wording. I’ll offer suggestions as needed for plot and character development because I can’t help it.

Please contact me via the contact page on this website–see the menu–or email me at SorchiasUniverse@SorchiaDubois.com.

If you are interested in posting in Sorchia’s Universe, see the Guidelines and How To page.

If you live in southern Missouri (or even northern Arkansas) and write ANY GENRE, you are welcome here. I’d love to feature your book. Paranormal elements preferred, but not required. I really want to find writers specifically in the area roughly from Mansfield in the west to Piedmont in the east and from the Arkansas line in the south to Salem, MO, in the north. This is an arbitrary demarcation so if you are nearby, that works!!
