Wine Jelly Murder: A Tasty Mystery 8 comments

Fair warning! As you snuggle into your jammies and prepare your reading nook, pack extra snacks! The characters are constantly talking about food, preparing food, eating food, or dreaming up new kinds of food. And it all sounds so very, very good. I ate a substantial number of chips as I read, but I pretended they were hors d’oeuvres, canapés, cakes, and fresh bread with jelly, along with many other delicious things.

Goddess Fish Promotions and the author provided me with a free copy.

S.K. Reviews The Wine Jelly Murder

Present Day. Small town in Colorado just before Thanksgiving. She makes jellies and jams, and he runs a restaurant and catering biz. They have a comfortable relationship—so comfortable that they actually enjoy working together—this is one of the things I like about The Wine Jelly Murder. The two of them are cute together.

A wealthy client books a lavish but rushed wedding for his daughter, and Roxy and Nate scramble to accommodate. The client is surly, pays in cash, and, btw, winds up in a puddle of blood at the engagement party. When accusations fly, the local police focus on Roxy’s friend, so Roxy decides to investigate. As the mystery unfolds, Thanksgiving comes and goes, and Roxy and Nate prepare for a family wedding on New Year’s Eve. (spoiler—more food.) But danger lurks in the village.

The Wine Jelly Murder left me hungry for more (See what I did there?), so it’s a good thing this book is part of a series. The murder is solved in dramatic fashion, and the main characters move toward life-changing decisions. Good writing, nicely paced, lots of insight into the restaurant and catering business, which I found highly entertaining and engaging. No Gordon Ramsy spouting f-bombs—it’s a cozy mystery, after all—you can’t have everything.

The Wine Jelly Murder is a tasty mystery in every sense. I found myself completely captivated by this delightful read; it held my attention from the very first page until the end!

The Wine Jelly Murder is perfect for fans who want their mysteries served with a side of culinary magic and small-town charm

If The Wine Jelly Murder were a tarot card, it would be The Empress—lush, abundant, and brimming with the comforts of food, family, and creativity. Like Roxy’s kitchen and Nate’s catering business, The Empress celebrates the joy of nurturing others and savoring life’s sweetest moments. But beware: even under the Empress’s generous table, secrets can lurk—and in this cozy mystery, a wedding feast turns deadly.
