V is for VOTE
Short post with a simple message—Vote!
Vote. Vote every time you can. Vote for dogcatcher, school board members, bond issues, state legislators and federal representatives and senators—and vote for a qualified and honorable Presidential candidate.
Be an informed voter. If your local media is asleep at the wheel—like mine—then get answers on your own. Call up the school board candidates/judges/dogcatcher candidates and ask them questions. Post their answers in a letter to the editor or on your website. Or on Facebook—anywhere. And everywhere.
Get registered and double-check your registration ahead of the election.
Be aware that help is available if your citizenship or registration is challenged. Put these numbers on your quick dial in case an issue arises on election day.

For basic info and how-tos
I hate to say it, but I am suspicious of any site that ends in .gov these days, so take the info on these pages with a grain of the proverbial salt. Verify with your local and state authorities.
