Random thoughts on Karma—I keep waiting for it to kick in.

K is for Karma
But Karma isn’t any of my business. You can’t get too attached to a desired outcome—you have to keep on keepin’ on, keep on doing what you feel is right, and let the Universe sort out everything else. Karma is kind of a mastery course. You’re going to keep having the same problems until you master whatever it takes to move on.
As ye sow, so shall ye reap.
Actions have consequences.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
How people treat you is their karma; how you react is yours.
“Violence does, in truth, recoil upon the violent, and the schemer falls into the pit which he digs for another.” ―Arthur Conan Doyle
“When karma comes back to punch you in the face, I want to be there. Just in case it needs help.” —Unknown
Karma is not a system of punishment—Karma is balance.
Karma goes both ways. Your intentions are just as important as your actions.
Trust Karma. The reason you and I are not allowed to wield the awesome and mighty power of Karma should be apparent. Of course, I can only speak for myself, but there are people I would smite right fucking now if I could and strong would be the smiting thereof. And that would be wrong because—as Gandalf says—even the wise cannot see all ends. Karma knows her business. Watch her work.
Now some say that there’s no reason you or I or my cat Petunia can’t be Karma’s facilitator. This is true. But it is also true that this way lies madness. Karma can use you, but it doesn’t work the other way round.
“When watching after yourself, you watch after others. When watching after others, you watch after yourself.” —Buddha
Karma isn’t a bitch or a saint—she’s a wise elder who will sit you down and serve you a tea laced with the same poison you serve others.

This is helpful. There’s something calming about the notion of Karma. I can take care of my actions and responsibilities and let go of other people’s. Since I have precious little control over others, letting go is good for me.
I love the image of wise elder karma serving tea!
